A condition with hardened skin and connective tissues, more common in females.

How many patterns of disease are there?

Three patterns: Limited, Diffuse, and Scleroderma without internal organ involvement.

What is CREST syndrome?

A subtype of limited systemic sclerosis: Calcinosis, Raynaud's, Esophageal dysmotility, Sclerodactyly, Telangiectasia.

What's associated with limited systemic sclerosis?

Raynaud's, face and limb involvement, and anti-centromere antibodies.

What's associated with diffuse systemic sclerosis?

Trunk and limb involvement, anti scl-70 antibodies, and respiratory complications.

How is Scleroderma without internal organ involvement characterized?

Tightening and fibrosis of the skin, manifesting as plaques or linear patterns.

What antibodies are associated with systemic sclerosis?

ANA positive in 90%, RF positive in 30%, anti-scl-70 with diffuse, and anti-centromere with limited.
